Two New Research Chairs

In late 2025 and early 2026, FALF will launch two Research Chairs to deepen its research footprint and build a pipeline of Black Female academic leaders:

  • FALF/NRF/Wits Chair in Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, led by Prof Relebohile Moletsane, a renowned scholar in rural education and gender equality.
  • FALF/FREF/NMU Chair in Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion, led by Prof Keo Motaung, a biomedical scientist and entrepreneur advancing women in STEAMi innovation.

Prof Stella Nkomo, Chair of the FALF Board Subcommittee for Research Chairs, notes:

“The appointments of Professors Moletsane and Motaung reflect FALF’s vision of excellence and diversity in academic leadership.”

With these appointments, FALF reaffirms its commitment to using science, leadership, and inclusion to drive meaningful change.
