In late 2025 and early 2026, FALF will launch two Research Chairs to deepen its research footprint and build a pipeline of Black Female academic leaders:
- FALF/NRF/Wits Chair in Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, led by Prof Relebohile Moletsane, a renowned scholar in rural education and gender equality.
- FALF/FREF/NMU Chair in Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion, led by Prof Keo Motaung, a biomedical scientist and entrepreneur advancing women in STEAMi innovation.
Prof Stella Nkomo, Chair of the FALF Board Subcommittee for Research Chairs, notes:
