FALF Grant Details
A call for proposals is issued, annually, in the third quarter of the year.
The Fellowship will provide funding for the following
- Buy-out of time
- Research Expenditure, for equipment and research assistants
- Leadership Capacity Development
- Conference attendance and travel
- Publication of articles
- Wrap around Support including workshops and seminars
- Leadership Assessment and capacity building
- International research and leadership collaboration
Selection Criteria
- South African, African and Coloured women academics on permanent condition of employment
- South African, African and Coloured Women academics on contract: the researcher’s term of employment should exceed the fellowship period
- Applicants must be employed at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer levels (or equivalent)
- Master’s degree and PhD holders
- Applicants may concurrently hold grant awards from other sources; however full disclosure will be required
