Dr. Azim Ansari
Associate Professor, Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford
Sir Henry Dale Fellow and Group Leader
Research Interest:
Dr. Ansari’s interdisciplinary work sits at the intersection of statistical genetics, immunology, and infectious disease. His research focuses on host–pathogen interactions using paired genomic data from viruses (HBV, HCV, HIV) and their human hosts. He develops statistical methods to integrate diverse datasets to uncover how genetic variation, both human and viral, influences disease outcomes. His work draws on statistical genomics, bioinformatics, pathogen evolution, and machine learning to better understand mechanisms of viral disease and immune response
